My name is Alex Thistlethwaite-Parra, and I am a licensed social worker in Pennsylvania. I am pleased to be a part of the clinical team at Ramous Psychology & Associates.
My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in social work from West Liberty University, as well as a master’s degree in social work from University of Pittsburgh. I also studied Spanish in college and am fluent in the language. Throughout my training and post-graduate work, I have gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan.
I have provided services for children in school settings, which has given me experience supporting students through the many stressors they face every day, including academic, social, personal, and family challenges. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with learning differences, ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. An area of particular specialty and passion for me is working with individuals on the autism spectrum, from childhood through adulthood. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working closely with many individuals with Autism and their families, helping to support communication, emotional well-being, social development, independence, and family relationships. I truly enjoy this work because I value each person’s unique strengths and perspective, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help individuals and families feel understood, supported, and empowered in reaching their goals.
Additionally, I have worked in an outpatient setting as part of a multidisciplinary team providing psychiatric and behavioral health services to individuals with a wide range of needs. This experience has strengthened my ability to collaborate with other professionals and provide thoughtful, comprehensive, and continuous care for clients and their families.
¡Todos son bienvenidos a mi oficina! Everyone is welcome in my office! I look forward to meeting you and beginning my commitment to helping you or your family grow, build on strengths, and reach your goals.
