We provide education and psychological testing for both children and adults.
Child and Adolescent Evaluations:
For children struggling in school with academic or social issues, we can help to identify problem areas that may be impacting your child’s performance.
Educational assessment and psychological evaluation can be useful in order to help determine specific struggles students are experiencing in school. Children may struggle academically for a variety of different reasons including poor attention, memory problems, or processing deficits. These can all impact a child’s ability to learn.
The staff at Ramous Psychology & Associates are experts in providing comprehensive psychological evaluations. We are able to conduct evaluations for learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, processing disorders, and ADHD.
Evaluations may be comprised of intelligence testing and achievement testing where we compare your child’s levels in reading, math and written language to national norms as well as process testing. Process testing may include assessment of a child’s long term memory, short term memory, visual processing, auditory processing and processing speed skills, which allows us to see a snapshot of exactly how your child may learn best.
We can help consult with your child’s teacher and other school personnel to develop supportive school interventions and services, including 504 plans. Our goal is to produce recommendations to help you advocate for your child and ultimately improve their academic performance.
There are many reasons an adult would benefit from a psychological evaluation. Psychological evaluations are performed when a social, emotional, or learning concerns are noticed and the cause, impact and/or recommendations are needed. The problem(s) can appear in many realms including inappropriate behavior, mood states that are interfering with functioning, a change from previous functioning, and/or an inability to perform up to expected standards. Some reasons why our adult clients may seek psychological testing include:
*Ruling out or ruling in a mental health disorder/diagnosis
*Testing to assess psychological, emotional, and/or behavioral functioning
*Career or college guidance
*Gastric Bypass/Lap Band Surgery evaluations
*Other psychological testing prior to medical procedures
Our goal is to help adults become satisfied and successful in their emotional, relational, educational and/or vocational lives. Through comprehensive history gathering and a battery of psychological tests, a wealth of useful information can be garnered to aid in understanding the issues that are arising and provide recommendations to address the issues.
