Hello, my name is Dr. Marah Coleman and I am a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania. I am happy to join the group at Ramous Psychology and Associates and provide a range of therapeutic and assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Through assessment, I strive to help clients understand their individual pattern of strengths as well as areas in which they can use additional support. In therapy, I utilize a person-centered and humanistic approach influenced by Motivational Interviewing where I provide empathy and genuineness to aid in accomplishing client directed goals. Alongside this approach, I utilize skill building practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I earned my BA in Psychology at Duquesne University where I continued on to earn my Master’s in Education in Child Psychology as well as my Doctorate of Psychology in School Psychology. From there I completed both my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Haymount Institute for Psychological Services in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I specialized in psychological assessment. While living in North Carolina, I received training and certification in the use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule -2 (ADOS-2) though TEACCH in Chapel Hill. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in multiple settings including the public school system, and hospital settings supporting clients with chronic illness/pain, depression, suicidality/self-injury, anxiety, mood disorders, and behavioral disorders. Additionally, I enjoy supporting neurodivergent clients as well as providing LGBTQA+ affirming care.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time outside with my dogs and horse.
