My name is Monika Chiesa, and I am excited to be able to provide evaluation services at Ramous Psychology and Associates. My goal is to provide individuals with comprehensive, strength-based evaluations, as well as appropriate recommendations, for children, adolescents, and adults. While some individuals require different approaches, I believe that everyone is capable of making meaningful progress toward life-long goals.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology through the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Education in Child Psychology through Duquesne University. Additionally, I earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in school psychology through Duquesne University. Currently, I hold a Level II Certificate as an Educational Specialist through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. I’m also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. I served as a school psychologist practitioner for over five years in the public-school setting. During this time, I completed comprehensive, multi-disciplinary evaluations for Special Education, Section 504, and Gifted eligibility. I also provided the district with psychological counseling and provided consultation and collaboration for a variety of academic, behavioral, emotional, and social needs. Prior to the public-school setting, I conducted “best practice evaluations” for families in need of Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), previously known as Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS), which included children with emotional and behavioral needs, and autism spectrum disorder.
I’m an active member of the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) and Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania (ASPP). I’m passionate about using problem-solving approaches, incorporating strength-based methods to best support the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic learning for all individuals.
