My name is Olivia Duball. I am a Pennsylvania licensed professional counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults of various ages. People often feel alone in their problems. My counseling philosophy is designed to help you feel comfortable sharing and exploring troubling issues while also encouraging you to develop new insights. I do this by helping you create strategies to manage stressors, enhance your strengths, and make constructive choices. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where a person can heal, explore, change, and grow in a non-judgmental environment.
I received my bachelor’s degree at Washington and Jefferson College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Communications. I then completed my Master’s degree at Duquesne University in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a member of the international honor society of professional counseling Chi Sigma Iota – Delta Upsilon Chapter. My experience includes working with various childhood disorders including autism spectrum disorders, behavior disorders, and ADHD. My clinical history includes various therapeutic approaches including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and social skills training.
In addition to my work with children and families, I have extensive experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, addictions, and personality disorders. I am trained in multiple therapeutic techniques and utilize the one that best suits your needs. Some of these theories include a solution-focused approach with an emphasis on movement towards attainable goals and a cognitive behavior approach to help you gain a deeper understanding of your behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. Your healing journey comes from within and it is my responsibility to provide you with the tools needed to reach your true potential. I understand that seeking support is a very personal and difficult decision that indicates a commitment to improving and changing your life. My job is to join you in that commitment and in doing so help you develop a sense of what you need and where you want your life to take you.
