My name is Emily Kurland, and I am a School Psychology doctoral intern at Ramous Psychology and Associates under the supervision of licensed psychologists, Dr. Courtney Ramous and Dr. Tara Greene-Minett. I provide both assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and young adults. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in School Psychology at Duquesne University, where I also earned a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in Child Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My educational training has focused on promoting the well-being of children, adolescents, and their families, contextualizing social, emotional, and academic concerns within development, and recognizing how individual experiences shape these processes.
Throughout my training, I have completed a variety of field placements in public school settings, where I gained extensive experience conducting psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments, providing therapeutic support, and implementing individualized, evidence-based interventions. These experiences have provided me the opportunity to connect with children, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate strategies that align with each individual’s strengths and address a diverse range of social, emotional, and behavioral needs. My training and clinical experiences have prepared me to provide comprehensive evaluations for learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and mood-related disorders, as well as other psychiatric concerns. Integrating evidence-based assessment tools and intervention strategies, I strongly believe in a compassionate, strength-based approach to thoughtfully address the complex, interconnected factors impacting mental health. My goal is to promote a safe, collaborative therapeutic environment where individuals feel valued and supported in confidently navigating their unique social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, while also engaging in meaningful and enjoyable experiences throughout the process.
