I am Nicole Williams, and I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania, New York, and North Carolina. I am thrilled to be a part of Ramous Psychology & Associates in a telepsychology position! I credit anyone reading this, as looking for a therapist can be a tough process. Yet, if you are able to find an objective person with whom you can speak freely and feel openly, you can begin the process toward clarity and resolve. I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strive to provide an atmosphere where there is comfort in exploring your automatic thoughts, emotional responses, behavior patterns, and relationship dynamics. Once identified, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors can be evaluated and chosen consciously. As a therapist, I may challenge you to consider alternative perspectives or encourage you to try different approaches. Together we will work to embrace your own power to choose and approach your future with additional skills and tools to overcome difficulties as they arise.
I earned my BA in Psychology and Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, then completed my MA and Doctorate degrees at the Florida School of Professional Psychology in Tampa. I learned a great deal during my time with inpatient psychiatric patients of all ages for my predoctoral internship at Broughton State Hospital in Morganton, NC. My postdoctoral fellowship at the Hillsborough County School System in Florida gave me amazing experiences with kids in self-contained classrooms. Since then, I have worked with adolescents, geriatric patients, students, and Veterans in hospitals, schools, and office settings. I am grateful for the vast experiences I have acquired through my clinical training and subsequent professional career. I have worked with people individually, as a couple, or in a group setting from ages 7 to 91 who range in difficulties from severe and pervasive mental illness to just needing some support through a life stressor. While I have a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology, I am interested in development throughout life. I welcome clients having issues related to mood and anxiety, adolescence, parenthood, and life changes/transitions.
