Hello. My name is Melina Young and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have happily joined Ramous Psychology and Associates to provide individual, group and family therapy to young children, adolescents and adults. With over a decade of clinical experience, I have helped clients with a wide array of presenting concerns including but not limited to issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, parenting struggles, low self-esteem, school problems, childhood behavioral problems and relationship problems.
I believe in creating a warm, respectful and nonjudgmental relationship with clients so that they can feel safe and comfortable in addressing the issues that brought them to therapy. While tailoring to each client’s own individual and unique needs, I employ an integrative approach to therapy, using evidenced based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, coping skills training, parent/child behavioral therapy, play therapy and mindfulness.
I graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and the University of Pittsburgh with a Master of Social Work. I have worked in the community mental health field, clinical research arena and a private practice.
