My name is Brooke Henshaw and I am a School Psychology doctoral intern at Ramous Psychology & Associates under the supervision of XXX (I don’t believe I know who my formal supervisor is yet). I provide both assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and young adults. I earned my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in School Psychology at Duquesne University, where I previously earned my Master of Science in Education (MSEd.) in Child Psychology. My formal training has taught me how to implement evidence-based services to patients while considering local contextual variables and community needs through addressing the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence an individual’s experiences.
I have completed multiple field placements during my training in public school settings, where I gained extensive experience providing therapeutic support, conducting psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations, and implementing evidence-based interventions across developmental and academic domains. I have advocated for student needs through participation in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, manifestation determinations, and Section 504 planning. In addition to my school-based training, I have experience working in outpatient settings, conducting neuropsychological assessments to individuals ages 5 through 65 with a focus on ADHD and related concerns. These experiences have strengthened my ability to closely collaborate with patients, families, educators, and community providers to develop a comprehensive understanding of each individual’s needs. Working within multidisciplinary teams, I have implemented strategies that align with each individual’s social, behavioral, and educational goals. My training and clinical experiences have prepared me to provide comprehensive evaluations for a range of concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, depression and mood-related disorders, as well as other neurodevelopmental or psychiatric concerns. I strongly believe in understanding my patients through their own lived experiences in order to provide compassionate, strengths-based care that addresses the complex and interconnected factors affecting a patient’s mental health and daily functioning. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where my patients feel empowered to navigate their unique social, behavioral, and emotional challenges while engaging in meaningful and fulfilling interactions.
