During individual therapy, you will actively explore your mood, feelings, thoughts and behaviors in hopes of learning how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with new and healthy ways of coping. Individual therapy is a naturally unfolding process whereby the therapist and client collaborate to define the goals of therapy and the means of achieving those goals in an open, supportive, and confidential environment.
Therapy sessions generally last from 45-50 minutes in duration. During an initial session, your therapist will ask questions about the your current circumstances and relevant background information. Individual sessions will focus on building a therapeutic relationship that promotes a team approach to therapy, identifying areas of concern, and working towards resolving the personal issues.
